ParisLocal 2023: 14 craftspeople open the doors of their workshops at the Viaduc des Arts

Calling all craft enthusiasts: ParisLocal is back for a 3rd edition from 17 to 19 November 2023.

An event not to be missed

What is ParisLocal?

For this year's event, ParisLocal is bringing together over 500 talented artists, craftspeople and artisans (ceramists, cabinet-makers, jewellers, chefs, pastry-makers, cheesemakers, glass-blowers, designers, wig-makers, etc.) committed to authentic, sustainable creation and responsible consumption.

The event is organised by the Mairie de Paris, Paris Je T’aime – Office de Tourisme, la Métropole du Grand Paris, which is putting the spotlight on the expertise of Greater Paris and its artisans.

This year, visitors from Paris, the Ile-de-France region and further afield will be able to take part in a series of new and original strolls around cross-cutting themes that trace the evolution of the craft industry over time, highlighting the eco-responsible commitment of Parisian craft industry players and promoting short circuits.

During these 3 exceptional days, the general public is invited to go and meet the craftspeople and shopkeepers and discover the Parisian and metropolitan area in a more authentic and local way.

Events such as exclusive workshops, tastings, demonstrations and open doors showcasing their expertise are on offer in 20 arrondissements of Paris and 3 departments of Greater Paris (92, 93, 94).

17, 18 and 19 November 2023

The date of the event is strategic. It provides an opportunity to support artisans in the run-up to the festive season and to encourage visitors to choose more responsible gifts, made in Paris, as part of a virtuous consumer approach.

ParisLocal gives additional visibility to craftspeople, artists, restaurateurs and producers, and makes them part of a wider communications campaign run by Paris je t'aime.

Whether it's to arouse curiosity or to share the wealth of our crafts and expertise that ParisLocal is a must-attend event, that are helping to make Paris an attractive destination, in particular by showcasing those who bear the "Made in Paris" label.

To coincide with ParisLocal, Parisian spirits producers are getting together once again to promote their expertise.

Together they have drawn up the map for the first edition of the Paris Distilleries Tour and are inviting the public to come and meet them from 18 to 19 November 2023 to discover the spirits factories of Paris.

Schedule: visits to workshops, distillations, tastings and discussions with leading figures in the industry.

An overview of the participating distilleries:
- La Distillerie de Paris, the capital's first historic and legal distillery.
- La Distillerie du Viaduc and its collaborative natural spirits.
- Baccae, its made-to-measure spirits and subtle absinthes.
- Maison Hamelle and its Pastis Parisien.
- L'Alambic Parisien and its liqueurs from the rooftops of Paris.

Focus on la Distillerie du Viaduc

Freshly converted childhood friends, Théo and Quentin set up their traditional stills in one of the vaults of the Viaduc des Arts in the 12th arrondissement in 2022.

Since then, they have been producing natural spirits from local produce (beer, cider and wine) and developing a range of organic spirits made exclusively from French plants.

They are looking forward to seeing you and sharing their passion with you!
