On the occasion of PARIS DESIGN WEEK in September, the Viaduc des Arts presents an exhibition designed by by the designer Dan Yeffet
June 2021 1-129 avenue Daumesnil
What brings the designers of the Viaduc des Arts together? What do designer Dan Yeffet, Hervé Ebéniste, Atelier Marischael and Lilikpó have in common? How do you find the common thread between a furniture designer, a lighting craftsman, a cabinetmaker, a goldsmith, a designer or a bootmaker?
This is the question that the exhibition "Before and After: the history of a handcrafted object", directed by Dan Yeffet, aims to answer in order to illustrate the theme of "Desirable Development" proposed this year by Paris Design Week. A dive into the heart of the creative process, from the raw, untransformed material to the finished object. It is on this didactic path that Dan Yeffet has chosen to guide visitors during this event.
On this occasion, 13 craftsmen will pay tribute to their professions, to art crafts and to the gestures that enable them to transform the material by exhibiting unique pieces or those made in limited series.
From the first sketches to the prototypes and the raw material... An opportunity to learn and be inspired to understand the creative process and also the invisible link that unites the creators of the Viaduc des Arts, and makes it a unique place of creation in the heart of Paris.
