La Fabrique Nomade x Le Slip Français: the textile sector makes its revolution at the Viaduc des arts
March 2021 1bis avenue Daumesnil

The idea is beautiful! And at first glance it looks like a very complex challenge: to develop a new model in the textile industry. A sustainable, human and open model. A challenge, a challenge, a utopia? No, it's a concrete reality that is taking shape under the vaults of the Viaduc des Arts in the workshop of La Fabrique Nomade.
La Fabrique Nomade and the brand "le Slip français" have decided to unite their know-how, their energies and their enthusiasm to develop a new model in an industry that is undergoing major upheaval.
Boldness
In the era of "reinvention" and sustainable development, Inès Mesmar, founder of La Fabrique Nomade, and Guillaume Gibault, founder of Le Slip Français, are committed to a bold revival. Just imagine!
The ambition is to mobilise the employability of migrant dressmakers, to train them in the know-how of French workshops, and to produce in France.
Le Slip français is a brand that champions made in France and local production. Production is carried out exclusively in local partner workshops. And recently the company became a "Mission Company".
Change your outlook
The Fabrique Nomade promotes the skills of refugee and migrant craftsmen and encourages their professional integration. They are taught to learn and perfect the French language and technical vocabulary so that they can adapt to a new economic and cultural environment.
The association has also just launched a textile workshop. The ambition is to show that migration and diversity are an asset for our country and our economy. The Fabrique Nomade defends a new model of integration, far from a commonplace logic that would have migrant populations work exclusively in sectors in tension. The Fabrique Nomade has taken up the challenge of forgetting clichés and changing the way we look at vulnerable populations whose professional skills and know-how, particularly in the textile sector, are often overlooked. The conditions are thus met for the two operators to build the future of the textile sector together.
A model of solidarity
Le Slip Français is now supporting La Fabrique Nomade's clothing workshop through a solidarity project. The project is financed through the payment of 5% of Le Slip Français monthly sales. Guillaume Gibault's teams will enrich La Fabrique Nomade's training system through a technical sponsorship. At the end of their training, the designers will have the opportunity to enter the textile industry through the network and partners of Le Slip Français.
And last but not least, the brand will support the clothing activity of La Fabrique Nomade, which will eventually become a manufacturing partner of Le Slip Français.
