Conservation and restoration of cultural heritage

In ancient Greek, hylé means « raw material » or « original matter. » So when six independent, « Musées de France » accredited restorers decided to create their own workshop, the name naturally imposed itself. « We wanted something short, and also a nod to all the artists whose works we care for, » explains Fleur Foucher.
Within these walls, the six partners, today Diane Beaugnon, Camille Béziers, Raphaëlle Chevallier, Fleur Foucher, Lucille Gaydon, and Agathe Petit, conserve and restore works made of ceramic, glass, enamel, archaeological artefacts, composites, paintings, and contemporary art pieces.
They mainly work for museums, châteaux, churches, and public institutions, but also cater to art dealers, private collectors, and individuals.
« Our mission is to preserve cultural heritage not only for the present generations but also for those to come, a true act of transmission, » says Fleur Foucher.
